About Balu

MovingArt originator, clothing designer, blue belt Nia instructor, yoga teacher, scholar of ancient spiritual wisdom, and mother of five, Balu has been teaching dance and running transformational workshops for the past 30 years, using dance as a vehicle for healing, expression and connection.

Balu’s teaching is a balance of expressions of the soul through movement, in a unique mind-body-soul experience called MovingArt and Yoga Dance, that embodies a wide range of rhythmic energies. This is led by the body’s innate wisdom in free dance, balanced with simply structured movement exercises in an accessible mix of contemporary dance techniques. Balu is the winner of two WC Ministerial Awards (2016) for ‘best contribution to cultural activities’ and the prestigious ‘outstanding achievement of women in arts and culture’.
