About the event
Experience an enchanting concert featuring Yin Xiong, a musician based in South Africa, and Philip Avierinos, hailing from the UK. Together, they weave a mesmerizing soundscape using an array of musical instruments, including gongs and alchemy singing bowls. This immersive sonic journey promises an unforgettable experience that you simply can't afford to miss.
Yin Xiong is an accomplished international musician with over three decades of experience as a holistic sound artist. Born in Wuhan, China, Yin has a deep love for music and has been singing all her life. She acquired her training in China, India, the United Kingdom and the United States and plays various instruments, specialising in gongs. On her worldwide travels performing and teaching, Yin has collected over 70 magnificent gongs and singing bowls – the largest private collection in Africa. Yin lives in George with her husband, Ismail Rahman, a retired diplomat. As a creative and inspired facilitator, Yin uses her unique knowledge of sound frequencies to create a spectrum of sound that is therapeutic to the entire being.
Philip Avierinos strated his own journey as a Musician before he turned to a Sound Therapist.
With a lifelong dedication to music, Philip Avierinos emerges as a classically trained musician who has delved into the profound potential of sound for healing. His journey spans over two decades as a music educator, where he witnessed firsthand the transformative effects of sound on his students. Motivated by this revelation, Philip embarked on a new path in sound therapy.
Philip's quest led him to attain diplomas from prestigious institutions such as the British Academy of Sound Therapy and the College of Sound Healing in the UK. Seeking deeper knowledge, he furthered his studies under the guidance of luminaries like Yin Xiong in South Africa and Yogi Mehtab Benton in the USA.
Now rooted in London, Philip collaborates with schools, communities, and individuals, employing a diverse range of instruments, including gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, and more, to facilitate healing and well-being.
